My husband, Len Weimann, has been a videographer since 1993 but turned professional in 1995. He started with videos, and progressed to DVD’s in 2001. He started his business with very little editing equipment, but bought a very sophisticated Editing Computer which he can upgrade regularly. In 2000 I, Hyla Weimann, started my professional Photographic career. I have never regretted that I have only used Digital Cameras from the start.
People were very prejudiced against Digital photographs when they first hit the market, but soon realized the advantage of digital above celluloid film.
Before I went professional with my photography, I always accompanied my husband on his video shoots, and I used to marvel at how the photographers always counted the number of shots already done, and changed cameras to shoot B&W and Sepia photographs. I cannot imagine being limited in number of photographs that I shoot because my “film” is getting full, and the customer is only paying for a certain number of photos.
When I do a Wedding Photo Shoot, I shoot unlimited photos and edit later to eliminate any “duds” that happen. In my opinion, the customer has the right to have a large range of photos to choose from if they want prints of the memories that were permanently created for the future. The CD’s of all photographs shot on the day will be there for generations to come.
